How should you pick a charity?  Some people struggle to find one, and others have trouble narrowing it down to one, but our advice is to think about what you would change if you could.

It might be something close by  in your town like mittens and hats for children who can't afford them, or mosquito nets to prevent malaria in Africa halfway across the world. Those are two examples of projects we funded this year. 

Your school might offer opportunities to give, but the best ones are the ones that you think of yourself and that you do the research for because they will mean the most to you. 

Matanah is a matching gift program, but it is good to remember that you can also help people with your effort and time such as collecting cell phones for soldiers or cans or food for food pantries.  Philanthropy is not only about money.

Your Ten Dollar$

We are asking you to raise $10.00 on your own so that you will have the chance to see how one raises funds.  You can work for it.  You can ask people to help you fund your important cause, (that is one way we get the money to send to you), or you can use gift money that you receive that you think other people might need more.  We usually ask people for money and we explain clearly why we think they should support us.  It's hard work, and it takes determination.
